3.2SS MFI build

Salutations all...

We just completed this Gem for a client. It's slated for a 1970 lightweight.

Specs.
83SC core.

98 x 70.4
38mm intake port stock exhaust.
9.5/1
DC40 Dougherty Racing Cams
1970 911 E injection bored out. 46 air horn 41mm throttle plates 38mm port (Burnham Performance)
New style Polyamid lines. (bigger diameter than current offerings) (Burnham Performance)
Burnham Performance Re-curved stock dizzy (Mod RS)
SSI
large single out muffler.

Engine was backdated some to look appropriate in the engine bay, but not 100%

The specs are identical to Walker's STR2 with the exception of muffler and the year of the MFI induction.

Yes Sir. With the right exhaust it will pull to 7500 redline.

Very nice , any reason for not using the DC60 cam ?
tastefully done

Beautiful workmanship, Aaron!

Very nice, i'm wondering and trying to learn.

I have been thinking about a 3.2SS build in the future for my 3.0SC. Currently running 46mm PMO carbs, and SSI's. Was hoping I could get something in the 250WHP range will the PMO be a help or hurt in this endeavor?

Also thought I might change out the SSI's for slightly larger headers and M&K 2into2 gt3 muffler.

Thanks for the help guys.

Budget, port size and exhaust. Anything above a DC40 I want to use a Carrillo. I open up both intake and exhaust further when using a DC60 or greater. Exhaust primary and muffler needs less restriction.

250hp is easily achievable with the build you stated.

Thanks for the help guys.

SSI is good for 250 and as long as the M&K des not restrict, you should be good to go.

Those are good words to live by here. Balance all rotating components and use much stronger and lighter rods when seeing above 7k regularly.

DO I dare ask.... is a 12k-15k budget reasonable for a solid 3.2SS build? I just got my SC and want to plan ahead. Currently have a good running 3.0 with 110K miles, running 46mm PMO and SSI currently.

Figured I could do a rebuild in 2-3 years.... but I see people dropping huge $$$ am I in the price range or way out of sorts?

That depends. If you are building a very mild engine, there is no advantage other than a small increase in displacement. If you are planning 90-100 hp per liter the displacement bump becomes more meaningful.

The budget you have wont go far and you might be disappointed with the results.

If I can't get 250-260WHP for 12-15K I swear i'm buying a Vette and leaving Porsche to the rich folks.

Lookin ' good Aaron ! Very nice ! Bert

Looks like someone will be 'vette shopping! I hate the Porsche "tax", but my old 'vette sits when I drive my old Porsches, so go figure!

BTW if you want a 500hp Big Block 'vette I might make you a deal! 1971 LS-5, very original but with more power, suspension and brakes!
