Machine shop in Colorado?
I've been working on my car for the last 17 years. I bought it as a fire damaged Salvage. It had 70k miles and no wrecks, scratches or anything. Just a charcoaled interior from a footwell fan that took a lot of other stuff with it. Also, the drivetrain was already gone, which was too bad, it had an LSD. I couldn't have afforded it either way with a drivetrain in it.
A few years ago I bought a donor car that had 60k on it. The front right was about two feet thinner from a wreck, bt the drivetrain was still there. And last week I finally started it. I built a pretty slick pre-oiling set up that recirculated and I ran the pre-oiler for about an hour. It pretty much started right up. A couple of injectors took a lot of techron to get them going. But, it started to sound really healthy. I took it up and down the alley a few times. There was a little lifter tap, and a lot of oil leaking on the right side. so today I pulled the covers off and found two of these. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1534634487.jpg Long story short. I'm hoping for just a top end rebuild. And I'm looking for a local machine shop to take care of me. It's been a while since I've done a rebuild... Also, I picked up a stack of Porsche books off of Craigslist last night. Wayne's rebuilding book was in there, and I read a lot of it last night. Kind of a strange coincidence? |
