G-series with G50 gearbox

Hi.

Thanks for membership in this Group.

i have an 79mod G-serie, built to widebody, i have rebuilt an 3.2carrera engine, to a singel turbo setup.

i have bought me an G-50 gearbox from a 993 C2. and i see its a big job to get this fitted to the car.
is it better to find an older G50 gearbox to my Project? is it someone having some Pictures of similar Conversion?

Thanks for help :-)

Yes, it will be far easier to fit a 5spd. The extra length of the 6spd requires significant cutting of the tunnel and custom shift components.

The best option is to find a G50 from a 3.2 Carrera (87-88) and shorten (25mm??) the bellhousing and input shaft.

You can probably use a G50 from a 964 c2 if you cut of as much as possible from the nose housing and weld on new mounting lugs like on the earlier G50s.
