Race valve springs...
 

What do folks recommend for race valve springs? running 993rsr cams.

I am pretty sure all of my engines have used Randall Aase's parts. Time tested I reckon.

The AASCO, EBS Racing VMax and the recent Eibach springs all get good reviews from people. Not too much seat pressure and not too much over the nose/open pressure.

AASCO also makes the titanium retainers for the 993's smaller 8mm valve stems, which is nice

Does EBS still make the VMax springs for 911s? I looked quickly at their site and only saw them for Boxster/996?

Aasco does seem to have a proven product. I noticed that they are good for .520" lift. This is a lot of lift, but there are cams out there with more than .520". I wonder what springs people use for those?

Yes ebs has them. I just had them quote. You also need to get there seats and retainers. As best I’ve calculus ebs ones have most loft potential. At 75lb seat pressure 0.568” lift and at 88 lbs seat press 0.0.528lift. Both with 0.050” margin to coil bind

Unfortunately EBS Racing's website seems like it has always been a struggle. I feel like they have much to offer that is NOT on their website. For instance they promote the nice CP Carrillo pistons in their email subscription but you won't find them on their site.

AASCO does a nice job of describing their springs in their spec sheet. You have to scroll down the page a bit to see the link/image in the "Technical Information" box

I've heard Kibblewhite touted only a few times, but I haven't heard of anybody's direct experience with them.

IIRC Elbach has two types, one race and a milder version, I used the mild, I can't remember numbers but that description sounds about right. I do remember the rates were as advertised and the springs were of nice finish. Couple customers have them, no issues, but I/they don't have enough miles on them to make much comment.

Yep Mark is correct Eibach has two versions available for the old 911.
