Going rate for a running 2.7 that needs a top and refre

Good morning gentlemen-happy Wednesday to you all.

Hoping to get a quick sanity check on ballpark value of a running 2.7 with a complete CIS set up that was taken out of a 1974 on thermal reactor car. No idea if the stars will come out clean, engine is intact as removed.

I know the final answer is “it depends” but I am hoping to get a ballpark.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Is the exhaust in good shape and included? As a general rule I say a CIS 2.7 is 50-70% of an equivalent 3L lump which in similar state is around 8-10k. So 4000-6k. Head work is easy, it’s the bottom ends on 2.7s where things get pricey, hence the cost difference. With a 74 you have a much better shot at the bottom end being straight. That said, a 2.7 is a far more fun feeling and rev happy engine than anything later imo, definitely a personal fav.

Thanks for the response. The engine is complete minus the distributor and exhaust, seem to run well from what I was told from a reliable source before it was pulled.
