Removing engine tin before drop
0n my ‘89 3.2 I’m about to attempt my first drop for this car, which I plan to do (with gearbox) between the ramps of my 4 post lift on to a hydraulic lift table. I understand I will need to remove the engine tin and exhaust to make it fit between the ramps. But since every drop I see seems to include tin, I’m wondering how difficult it is to remove tin before the drop?
Thanks for any guidance, Gavin |
It is MUCH easier to remove the tin after the motor is out.
Replacing the tin with the motor in is a real PIA. I'm sure those who have dropped motors with a 4 post lift will chime in. |
Just some screws except the left front with flywheel sensors and 2 bolts coming down
Basically just busy work and a time consumer. Bruce |
Ok thanks- not preferable, but doable ... is what I hear. I will give it a try.
