IMS discoloring okay?

Pictured is my shaft with the discoloring. Should I do anything about it (other than a happy dance for nearing putting it in the case).http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1563817839.jpg

What discoloration? By the oil galley?

I just took some 1500 grit wet/dry paper, wrapped around the journal, took a shoe lace and VERY gently rotated it several times to polish it...

Probably achieved nothing, but made me feel like I did "something" to improve it...

Right, bpu699 the circle by the oil inlet hole.
I’m good at having fun probably achieving nothing!

The bearing you removed has an oil galley there so there is no contact to the shaft.

Pull the snap ring and plug out of it and clean out the gunk (if you haven't yet)
