Timing Question
 

If replaced my sealing rings on the banjo nut on right side chain tensioner and rotated the engine without the banjo installed will the tensioner lose pressure, thus changing the timing?

No, Tensioners have a check valve built in (both types). Also there is no pressure in the lines to the cam housings when the engine is not running.

Pem - the pressure the tensioners provide is mainly from a stiff spring inside them. The "pressure feeding" part is mainly to replace the oil which, by design, gets slowly squeezed out when driving. The main purpose of the oil is to allow the tensioners to act like a shock absorber - pressure above spring pressure required to squeeze oil out.

These are nothing like the fancy hydraulic actuators on the newer cars.
