911 piston orientation
I’m disassembling my 1974 911 2.7 for a rebuild, and documenting as I go. I believe the #1 piston was installed upside down when it was rebuilt many years ago. All the pistons have the hump pointing towards the fly wheel except #1. Please take a look at the picture and let me know if my suspicion is correct. I want to make sure I get it right when I reassemble the engine. Sorry the pic is upside down.

Yes all should be the same. You should pick up Wayne's book on rebuilding and modifying 911 engines.

You’re right on #1 cylinder. the concave area is by the spark plug when you build 2.7 to 3.2

How about the other side?
Do you a picture of cylinders 4-5-6? When your are looking or facing at these cylinders, the hump should be on the left side of the CIS pistons.
