how to cross reference a 930 cam
hello all.
new to pelican parts, long time 356 registry and pca member. i was hoping someone could help me id a cam. im in the process of tearing down a 76 row turbo engine # 6760132 that has been sitting for some 17 years in an air conditioned garage . i m currently breaking the engine down to see what is usable to help me decide what direction i m going to go with it . The cam in question looks perfect but it does have one small corrosion pit on a lobe ( figures ). the cam in question has a casting # of 930.105.141.0R and the end is stamped 9'30 142.00 can any one tell me is this a standard 930 cam looking to replace them with a set of cams stamped 930.105.142.03 and 930.105.143.03. thanks in advance for for help Regards Ned |

The 142 03 and 143 03 are stock cams for 3.3 turbo 78-89 As far as i know specs are the same. A nice upgrade would be a set of SC/3.2 carrera cams (same specs) Richard |
Hi Ned, Richard,
Would the 330 Sport SC cams be better for this engine? It gives a power band between the stock SC cam and the 964 cam. My guess is this cam would see power a band from 3,500 RPM to 6,000 RPM. Depending on driving style and local terrain this could be a better choice. Rahl |
