Show me your custom Tach faces and gauges!

I'm going to have NHS do a 10k face for my 2.8L build going in my 71T.

Since we're doing MoTEC I want to do a few things to take advantage of the data we have but keep the dash stock looking.

Thought is we'd have them add a shift light on the tach (hidden) and also a CEL (also hidden). both can be triggered via the motec m1.

We could also do a digital display or gauge with AFR per bank...

Anyone want to share stuff they've done? Thx

Probably get a much better response if you post this in the tech section

SO I decided on a design, dropped off core speedo an NHS:

standard LWB type bezel, needle, center part
having a 10k face inserted, no redline
They are replacing internals with a stepper motor
They are installing 2 surface mount LED on the tach to use for MOTEC indicators
They'll clean it all up/bezel, glass, etc.

They had a few examples, should look nice!

Did my own gauges out of midyear ones. New glass, custom faces, new chrome bezels.

Lovely gauges Raceboy!!

Did a number of things to clean up legibility on these (removed: VDO markings, KM/H scale, icons, clock rally hand, minute hashmarks a la 964/993, etc), implemented a couple of old school throwbacks (triangle vs arrow turn signal indicators and "R" vs fuel pump icon), increased the redline (car has uprated rod bolts) and deleted the 3.2 Carrera CASIS up-shift light in favor of a voltmeter...

Added a set of classic white LED bulbs to make it complete.

Got this back this week.

10k face, 2 LEDs for Motec Goodies, and a stepper motor.

I understand you wanting to keep the vintage look. But, mounting a MoTec dash (somewhere you can easily see it) offers advantages that are hard to give up compared to what you get with mechanical gauges and a few unlabeled lights.

I use an AiM MXL2 dash and no longer need to take the time mentally or physically monitor oil pressure, oil temperature, cylinder head temperature, or voltage (making sure the fan belt is in place) while on the track. I have alarm conditions setup so the dash tells me what is going on with warning lights and, in severe cases, with on screen messages while the screen flashes red. I also have a nice series of colored shift lights.

Instead of looking gauges, this lets me focus on what I really need to be focusing on...what is happening on the track.

I use this as my information display, it is on/off switchable plus I can set it up to display whatever engine data I want.

Yeah. I had an aim dash in my gt3rs so i get it. But...not for this car. Although the wide screen dash with an lcd overlay of the classic gauge cluster would be kinda sweet
