Gap between newly installed engine and new tin gasket I just finished installing my rebuilt engine in my 1982 SC. While the engine was out, I installed new engine compartment tin gaskets. After getting the engine installed, there’s about a 1” gap between the engine tins and gasket. The long side of the gasket has 2 flaps - does one go above and one below the tins? I can work some of the gasket to do that, but it just pops upward. Suggestions? |

Yes,you have to pull the lower flap down all around the perimeter. You can sometimes do it with you fingers and may need to use a tool to help if it’s a tight fit. |
