Dow Molokyte 111 - which rubber parts do not like it?
Hi all
I'm doing a top end on my 964 and plan to use Dow 111 on several of the O-rings. Are there any for which this is a no-go? For instance: RSR rocker seals, Fuel Injector to rail/manifold O-Rings, Cam seal O-Rings etc etc? Thanks

It used to be listed as "food grade" for use on o-rings in contact with foodstuffs. Don't know if that's still true or not.
Looking at the SDS, it's pretty inert and doesn't react with anything. |

This stuff is the gold standard for rubber polymer compounds, including all flourosilicones, conventional silicone, EPDM, TPV/TPE, etc. Use with confidence with any o-rings around the engine/trans/vehicle. Just note that if it smears someplace where you want to paint, you have a major cleaning to do because nothing will adhere to it.

Thanks that gives me confidence. I suppose another way of phrasing this question would be - are there any instances where one would want to use something like Curil-T on a rubber seal? I understand the Dow11 lubricates the rubber which likely helps install and longevity but I don't exactly understand what Curil-T would do for O-rings and rubber seals such as valve cover gaskets (964 style) or if it has any place on those.

Curl T is more a sealing material than a lubricant. Go with silicone for lube/preservation...

SuperLube is equivalent to Dow 111. Also contains PTFE. I bought a 1 lb. tub from HomeDepot for about $10.
