Thumbs up Looking for contacts with 3.2l SS and 46mm Carbs

Hey everyone,

I am currently building up a 3.2l Short Stroke engine with TwinPlug and 46mm Weber carburetors. Currently, we are starting to setup the engine (carburetors, ignition map...).

I am looking for persons with a similar setup to discuss some details. Caused by the situation here with COVID, all toolshops and test-benches are closed atm.

Highly appreciate any feedback or hints.

All the best,
Max

I have that, what kind of things are you interested in knowing.
What kind of compression and cams do you have.

Compression

Hey Colin,

Here my camshafts:

Compression should be fairly standard around 9,6. I have the MaxMoritz pistons. I am urgently looking for an ignition-map to start from. Can you help?

Best greetings from Munich,
Max

are you running a distributor or a mappable ignition that is electronic.

If you're running twin plugs yet still under 10:1 compression, I would set timing as follows as a baseline setting:

1000-1200rpm 5 -7 degrees (idle)
2500-3000rpm 20 degrees
4000rpm 27-28 degrees

With compression being not quite so high you will probably be able to bring in a couple more degrees timing at various places, but this should get you going.

Mapping

Hey guys,

Thanks for the quick answers and the first indications

I am running a mappable ignition. We use the Trijekt Bee ECU for ignition. I regarding compression, we might be a little bit above 9,6 - maybe 9,8.

Best,
Max

The estimations I made are based on wide open throttle above 2500rpm. Partial throttle timing can be 5-9 degrees more depending on volumetric efficiency. Each engine will be different.
