935 bearing partnumber info needed
Hello Guys,
A little time ago I found some old Porsche stock parts in a shed nearby from an retyred Porsche shop. Most of the parts were for 924/944 but I found also some bearings I cannot trace. I understand it is for titanium rods but I would like some more info like: Is it standard size or not For which engine number/ year Can it be used for stock engine’s? Any info would help The number on the bearings are: 935.141.51 Thanks already, Johan

Maybe talk to Neil Harvey at Performance Developments.
I think they might be 956 bearings? Is the outside thickness measurement 24mm? The 20.7mm inside and 55.8mm outside diameter would be correct for 956's. In any case, they won't fit stock rods because of the thrust surface area. |

Those are rod bearing for the Porsche race Titanium rods. They should fit right up to the GTI, I think. For sure through the 926C engine. The latest ones we have here have part number 935 146 00 and have a date stamped on them as well.
Crank journals are all the same and the rod BE thickness is as well. If you have a full set you are in the money. They are extremely rare and expensive. I think MS has had them remade but will not sell them. In the US anyway. If you do not need them, they are worth multi thousands and even more if there is a full set. From memory there was no outside or inside sizes. They came std only. |

Neil, do your 962 rods appear to be the same size?
I thought that the 935 and 962's used the thinner rods (22mm wide journal, 19mm wide rod BE) and the 956 used the thicker BE bearings (24mm journals, 20.8mm rod BE) because of the 66mm crank? If that's correct, these would only fit the 956 and would be even rarer than the 935/962 bearings. Just wondering. |

I find it fascinating to hear all this.
I’ve found complete sets of them. I know that the old shop did something with racing but it’s closed years ago. Does anybody know where to find old documents for this? Or copy’s? If it helps I can make more pictures if you want |
