What size socket for ARP head stud kit?
After a valve adjustment yesterday, I tried to check the torque on my ARP head studs. A 12mm, 12-point socket seemed about right, but wouldn't stay on the nut. Maybe it wasn't quite deep enough?
I can't remember what socket i used during assembly. I guess i'm getting old. If anyone can point me in the right direction i'd appreciate it. Thanks, Graham |
far as i can remember thats correct.

Just did mine, as per "colingreene" confirmation, 12 Point - 12mm (depth socket) is it.

Ok, thanks guys. The end of the stud must have been too long for my 12mm wobble socket.
|
Did you use a wobble extension on you socket? If so that is the problem.
|
No, it was a socket with a wobble built in. It has a recess that was deeper than a typical shallow socket, but not enough to clear the bullet end of the ARP stud.
Side note: It's strange that deep 12 point sockets are so uncommon. |
