Would you use NOS glyco rod bearings from 1998?
Hi, I'm about to start building a 2.4 and have a set of NOS glyco rod bearings that are date-stamped 1998. Does anyone know if that pre-dates the plant that seems to be the source of all the problems? My guess is that these would be good to go but any more info would be great.
thanks! |

I would think that the Chinese standard business plan of, production that looks correct but isn't, would not have influenced manufacturers at say the engine bearing level at that time, 22 years ago. It has only now been a couple of years that I have been aware of the Glyco bearing issue, but I really don't know how far back goes that problem. Would like to see reports from builders as to when did you first hear of or experience what you would consider chronic bearing problems. Bob

Yeah that's kind of what I'm hoping to find out too. Was the South Africa plant in existence then, etc. At any rate it looks like I was wrong about Poland... just grabbed the box and I think they are German
