Sikaflex vs Yamabond
Going to approach the #8 bearing leak for the last time and have heard Sikaflex and Yamabond work pretty good in conjunction with a collar. Yes I know what is the best solution but I don't have the budget to split the case.
Any solid long lasting experience with either of these two sealants? Since this is my last time doing this I want to make sure I have the best sealant. |
I have only used Sikaflex in the marine world. It is great for sealing deck cleats and anchor bolts from letting water in. Could it be used in engines? Maybe? I have no idea. We used it because it was the best sealant in the marine environment we were working in. Never bothered to look at the temp range ratings of the ability to stand up to oils, fuel etc...

Yamabond is actually three-bond if you go to the three bond site you’ll find all the info you need. Been using three bond for many years on various motorcycles et good stuff.
