You can also bore them out for a displacement increase. I believe JE stocks 85mm and 86mm pistons for this application.

Other than saving me a few bucks $$$ by using my old cast iron cylinders, are their any big advantages by going to Nikasil cylinders?

Very slight, the Nickasil cylinders are a little 'slicker' so there is a (very) little less friction loss from the rings. But Porsche really started using them so they could increase the bore and still stay with the original case as the walls are thinner so a larger diameter would still fit within the same spacing as the original cylinders.
If you go to Nickasil you must make sure you get the oil squirters installed in your case as they depend on these to maintain the proper temperature of the cylinders.

Also might add that since Nikasil are alloy, and have a different thermal expansion rate than the steel head studs, you might want to install casesavers to prevent head studs from pulling. The iron cylinders are one of the reasons the T mag cases faired better than the other mag cases as far as staying square and not pulling studs.
