964 Tiptronic Removal - Assistance Please

I tried searching but could not find the answer.

A friend has asked me to work on his 964 but it's a tiptronic and I'm not sure what to expect when trying to separate the transmission from the motor. Also, are any special tools required?

Happy for some links to threads explaining.
Any books or other resources I should acquire?

thank you
Mike

Take the starter out and remove the 8 bolts holding the torque converter to the flexplate/flywheel.

Thanks, yes I have read that, but I'm also seeing that Porsche recommend a small tool that then fits through the starter hole, and keeps the torque converter insde the trans when you remove it. Having never worked on an Auto 911 before, I'm curious if I try to do this without the tool, will I be making my life extra hard?

There isn't anyone near me I can ask for assistance.

Also, I have read some say to remove the heat exchangers before removing the engtrans, so I can undo a bolt at the bottom centre? If I have the engine on a hydraulic table, will I be able to access this bolt negating the need to remove the exhaust while it's on the car?
