Rod Bolt stretch gauge hack

Hi Everyone. Hope all's well where you are.

I haven't posted in ages so thought I would just add this simple hack which saved me lots of frustration recently with the ARP rod bolts.

My dial indicator spring was quite weak so I added a couple of springs behind a small fender washer, after removing the dial gauge end pin. Gives much more holding power and repeatability.

Very good mod. I found that it was recommended in various places on the internet and did it to my JEGS gauge.

Yours looks a bit more elegant, Harold :)

We have a cheap one and the ARP one. The ARP one works very well. Likely not worth the price if you are only building one engine. But a very good tool, repeatable results.
