964 Heads - Ceramic damage
So I am starting to take apart a 964 motor.
When I removed the cat converter a whole bunch of schrapnel fell out of the front of the cat converter (where it connects to the crossover pipe). Well, I think it came out of the cat converter, I don't think it was hiding in the shield area... What is it? This is a running motor, although it has been rebuilt before... surely it's not parts of a blown apart piston?? https://i.imgur.com/heQfJgS.jpg https://i.imgur.com/qB02azf.jpg https://i.imgur.com/7XQQvJ7.jpg https://i.imgur.com/xMuV0XD.jpg |
Parts of the broken ceramic exhaust port inserts. Around the exhaust port and valve guides.

Here are the photos. The first one looks really bad. I am not sure these can be repaired? Any suggestions always appreciated. https://i.imgur.com/jcsamWw.jpg https://i.imgur.com/DmuB7to.jpg https://i.imgur.com/niw9EVV.jpg https://i.imgur.com/28t8A7n.jpg https://i.imgur.com/E0hZCfF.jpg https://i.imgur.com/5Sy0pGY.jpg |
