Aftermarket heads
Does anyone know the manufacturer of these heads? To my surprise they were installed on a stock 1970 T. Another shop called and asked if I could pick up the engine and deal with it. I have a set of 2.2 heads from 1970

CMW and Ninemeister both offer billet heads. Have no idea If CMW makes the Ninemeister ones or not. But the machining and finish quality of the heads in your pics are far beyond what either of these two companies offer. That said, the reports are that both of those company's heads do work very well, despite the lack of finish detail on the machining side.
Let us know what your research unveils in regards to the source of these heads, if non OE. |

There is/was a company called something like perfect power/ perfect piston/ perfect seal that makes/ used to make custom heads from new castings. Maybe these are theirs?

Not one that I have seen before especially for an early motor.Finish looks quite good though and the material as well.

When I first started taking the engine apart I saw the heads, and said, Wow, these must be Bob Cousimano heads, cool never seen them before. What are they doing on a stock 70 911T motor. Then as Henry said, no D port.
In a search to see who made these heads, the only thing I found was the attached link. The heads in the link are 100% CNC. If you look at my original post, you can see that the heads are cast, and then machined after. These heads have 34mm ports top and bottom. Instead of the valve size being 39 and 35, they are 1mm over at 40 and 35. I would normally use a Bosch WR5DC plug in a 70T, but with these heads I can't. The threads are standard 14mm, but the hex is 5/8,no room for a standard plug. I googled the plug number and they are available. When I checked the application, it said for motorcycles. So I have to hunt for this type of plug in the heat range of a WR5DC.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1611426669.JPG

I was going to start a new thread and then saw this one so maybe I can piggyback. I know Neil doesn't suggest titanium retainers for most street applications but I also know that Bill outfits many of his reworked 3.6 heads with Ti. I'm going to shoot for a rebuild and will use either extreme rebuilt or new castings....street car but I do like to let it sing a bit...I don't want to rebuild the engine all the time or replace retainers. Forget Ti or is there a benefit to be had?

Indeed I don't. But for these reasons. Most Ti Retainers do not fit the springs well, are uncoated and need regulars inspection. Most show serious signs of wear. Most street engines don't come apart often. If you are going for all out performance then yes use them but choose the one that is made well. nh |
