Used to use Brad Penn (now Penn Grade) break in oil.
Most recent engine rebuild I used Driven BR30, Joe Gibbs oil brand. Recommended (almost demanded) by a respected Porsche engine machinist.

I use BR40 on the 996 engines, just be careful, due to the huge amount of moly it can clog a filter in as little as 300 miles.

My performance 3.0 I just used Delo 15w40, this works as it's a good dino oil with a okay amount of zinc and moly.
Never use synthetic for break in.

Back in the day for VW T1 I used to use 20W ND compressor oil.

Not putting miles on your car is like not having sex with your girlfriend, so she'll be more desirable to her next boyfriend.

We used to use Brad Penn for years as we distributed it. But cost to get it into the country made us look around. We now use Motul Break In oil and have been pleased with the product.

Cheers
