IWIS Race v Standard Timing Chains
Hi all
IWIS seem to product 2 chains, standard and racing, the racing one is stronger, lighter and basically the same price so is there any downside to them in a road engine? Thanks Neven |
I believe the racing one is run in and pre-stretched, not sure it's stronger or lighter. But your cam timing should stay correct longer with this chain. That's how it was explained to me.

Chains
We did a lot of testing with both types of chains on race engines with solid tensioners, they both perform well but after the run in and a few hours on the dyno the race chains were settled in and the adjustment was good for 25 -30 hours, the street chains took a fair amount more time and adjustments before they settled in. as close in price we always use the race chain
