Wiring for a 3.2 project
 

So I have a 1971 VW camper van that has been completely rebuilt and built around a 3.2 1985 carrera engine which has been rebuilt alongside a 915 transmission.

This has been fitted with PMO carbs as I want something that will be more like a vintage engine.

So an earlier post on here helped me figure out that ignition will work with a 2.7 distributor (with 3.2 drive gear) and a 3 pin CDI unit.

The bit I don't know and can't figure out is the rest of the wiring. What cables need to go to the CDI unit? is it simply a positive from the ignition switch?

Also, I have the original alternator and loom but unsure how to wire this up.

Looked at a few 85 wiring diagrams but none clear enough to work out how to backdate this to distributor and CDI unit wiring instead of the original 85 ECU setup. Anyone?
