1983SC CIS engine line replacement with Mason lines
I want to use Paul Masons fuel lines to replace my stock CIS engine lines. Has anyone done this on a 1983sc. If so, I would appreciate your input as to the installation and additional couplings, bolts, and modifications required.
Thanks roadster49. |
I'm not familiar with those; got any links or description?
Something I'm finding on my car (and the problem is well documented if you search deep enough): Fuel line diameter, wall thickness, and "stiffness" can drastically affect CIS operation. |
Paul Mason’s fuel lines.........
A Pelicanparts member bought the CIS fuel lines kit from Paul Mason and sent them to me for evaluation.

Nothing from FD to injectors? I wonder if the steel lines ever/often go bad, but with the earlier plastic flex lines pulling injectors was easier.

Walt, Paul Mason does not make or supply fuel lines to injectors. He makes only the fuel lines for fuel delivery to the fuel distributor (backside), CSV, and return line. Tony |

I can make up Polyamide injector lines for you. Here are my Poly Lines with fittings to replace the hardlines to the injectors on an 82 SC..... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1633277155.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1633277201.jpg I specialize in all Metric fuel and oil lines & hoses for most older Porsche models. For info, please email me. Len.Cummings at verizon.net Thanks for looking and I hope this helps. Len :) |
I do not understand why you would replace steel injection lines, as I have never seen a failure. The rubber/ plastic lines are the problem and often need repair, replacement. My end game has always been change for lmprovement and reliability, not for the sake of change. Rob

If you check your injectors with any frequency, especially to balance their flow, you would see the advantage of flexible lines. Otherwise, the steel lines will probably outlast everyone alive today. That is, unless alcohol can mess them up.

I couldn’t imagine ever wanting to change my metal fuel lines. I’ve done flow tests several times without any problems.
