Engine Shipping Recommendation?

Anyone have a recommendation for a shipper. Complete crated engine going from PNW to NC.

I used https://yrc.com/ for a crated engine shipped CA to NJ (2019)

Chuck,

I went through this process last year when I bought a complete motor strapped on a pallet. For peace of mind, I did not choose the cheapest rate but went to some shipper I had good experience. I chose FedEx trucking. The FedEx driver arrived at the location for pick up at the pre-arranged pick up date/time. It was from LV to Philadelphia, PA and delivered on time.

If you are looking for a cheaper rate, go to a broker and hope for the best. Good luck.

Fedex trucking is very good. I use freightquote and they hook me up with fedex trucking about 50% of the time.

Depending on where you are shipping UPS hub to hub might be a option and has worked well for me in the past. UPS has hubs in most bigger cities. You will need to call around and find a UPS store that can create the bill of lading. Then you drop off at your local hub, purchaser picks up at hub on their end. Otherwise I have used less than truck load (LTL) and done the same. If you can drop off and pick up at freight company its much less expensive.

+1 to YRC freight. They were reasonably priced especially when you pick up/drop off at a terminal. I Had an engine shipped halfway across the US last year for around $200 and a crate full of 914 bits the size of a refrigerator for around the same price. The estimated delivery dates on both of those shipments were wayyy off so beware of the estimated delivery date.
