Oil cooler case leak Technical Bulletin But...
 
Ok so we know about the leak that can happen behind the oil cooler that needs some attention but in my case, there is a spot that looks similar to the spot behind the cooler.

Since it is in the case it isn't that big a deal but the edges of the "hole" look very rough. Should a file/sand these down to keep them from breaking off in the future and making their way into my oil and wreaking havoc. Or does this spot some other type of attention?

That’s inside the block. I suggest you seal the two spots outside the case.
Inside the case, do you really want a lump of JB weld floating around inside if the sealant broke loose?

For sure not.. who knows how long this case will stay closed with some JB weld floating around. My thought was that it needed a little deburring.. is that overkill?
