2.7l engine rebuilt shops in the East Coast
Recently relocated to the Ct area and I am looking for recommendations on where to rebuilt the engine on my 1977 911S. I purchased Wayne’s book on How to…but the recommendations for rebuilders included are located in the west coast. The engine is. 2.7l , magnesium block. Thanking you in advanced.

If it were me and I needed a rebuild, I would pull the engine out, put it on a pallet, and ship it to Henry Schmidt at Supertec Performance. Especially if you want to make any improvements. He is among the very best. I am sure that there are others that do a good job too...but don't have experience with them. I hauled my car to Supertec on a trailer almost 20 years ago and glad I did. The engine outlasted that car and is in another with no problems after all this time. A rebuild of one of these is a really big investment and should last many, many years (or not). A lifetime investment to me. Yes, he is on the west coast. Give him a call. See what he says. Nice guy!

There are a lot of good engine builders and shops who can rebuild a Porsche engine. Newbies do it in their garage let alone experienced engine builders at local shops. Talk to your top couple choices, do your homework and get it done.
