2.4 CIS oil leaks

MY 1973.5 911T CIS is having an oil leak problem. I did a stock rebuild but updated the oil pump and did the case bypass mod. Everything worked well UNTIL.............

2 years later the car was placed in an unheated garage and started while it was about 25 degrees F. The choke was on, and the engine ran about 2K RPM for a few minutes. Oil started pouring out and dripping. Once things warmed up, the leaking stopped. Now, however, whenever the engine is started, even when warm, oil pours out. It seems to stop once the engine warms up. Also, I feel the oil pressure is running higher than it was, with the gauge showing 60-80 PSI at 4000 RPM once warm.

Any thoughts??

thanks

You have to figure where it’s coming from, with the CIS it is difficult
Change in temp controlling the flow. Sounds like it could be a leak on the main galley behind the flywheel before the thermostat opens.
Just thoughts,
Bruce

Hi
I had a similar issue. Warm climate. Gave it a good rev while on a drive
Got home oil every where at the rear main area. Engine just rebuilt. So out with the engine for a new rear main.
Looked dry as. I replaced it but convinced it's not the issue. I concluded it was one of the two oil pressure gallery freeze plugs. JB weld.
Engine back in. All fixed.
PS it was a lot of oil. If you look at my threads you will find it

No response........

Ahklein,

What is your response to Bruce question? You asked for help and you did not even make a response to his inquiry? And expect to receive assistance? Good luck.

Tony
