Fan Pulley Nut Correction

I think I may have found an error in the 101 Projects for Your Porsche 911 book. Regarding the fan pulley nut:
  • On page 25, figure 2-10 caption says the nut size is 24mm
  • On page 26, text says 22mm

I think 22mm is correct, as the parts catalog says M14 which I believe requires a DIN 22mm wrench.

I don't see this noted in the corrections page. I tried emailing Wayne at the address listed in the book, but it bounced.

P.S. I am finding the small white text on light colored backgrounds used for the photos (e.g. blue and green) very hard to read. Even in good light with reading glasses.

24 mm fine thread for the earlier alternator
22mm coarse thread and 8 mm Allen in the center of the drive. Paris Rhône alternator with onboard voltage regulator
I could be backward on the numbers as I sit in the easy chair.

Backwards 22mm early, 24mm late.

Dennis,

I am almost 80 years old and find the pictures in the 101 Projects very well presented. Went over the book cover to cover to find nothing wrong with the visual presentations. Are you sure you are not colored blind?

Tony
