Glyco crankshaft main bearings

I’m putting together a 1978 930 crankcase with a 993 crankshaft. Anyhow, it doesn’t seem like their are many options for bearing brands. I saw a video on YouTube and the person said that many people were splitting the case and reusing the main bearings (if they were in good condition,) due to the fact the current bearings manufactured today lack the quality. I just purchased a set of Glyco main bearings pn H949/7, does any one have any experience with these?
Thanks Pio

It’s mostly glyco rod bearings that had issues not main bearings, that being said I would still measure or plasti gauge the mains to make sure and maybe shoot a dry film lubricant on them. Or you can shell out $650 to $800 on a set of Oem.
Clevite are a good choice for rod bearings.

Thanks for the reply. I’m having trouble locating clevite or ACL bearings for the 993 crank, would you or anyone know where I can source them?

Thanks, I have seen automobile associates rod bearings, I didn’t realize that they are clevite. I’ve used clevite for years on my Chevy’s but recently switched to king. Anyhow thanks for that piece of information. It seems like there aren’t many options for the 993 configuration crankshaft.
Thanks Pio

Since the diameter is the same as 3.2/3.6 engine you can take Clevite bearings for those cars and machine them down to 993 journal width. I believe Henery and Supertec can do this.
