For the last 20+ years it wasn't an issue because I had a great fabricator weld up an exhaust that raised the exhaust up far enough to not be a visual issue, the tips would still occasionally grind on extreme transitions but not enough to worry about.

This summer I rebuilt the engine and of course the old muffler blew out immediately.

I purchased a new Fabspeed RSR setup which I like very much but it hangs too low, the tips also need to be moved outboard by ~2" to fit the existing cutouts, but that's been handled.

If the 1" spacers can be eliminated or reduced to even .5" that would solve or at least alleviate the problem

It appears that the stock 993 tray which was modified a bit for use in the '76 chassis is the major impediment to elimination of the spacers.

I can modify the existing 993 tin, or purchase f/g designed for the purpose, In the interest of expedience and saving everyone some time I don't mind spending some $

Sheridan seems to have had what I need, Rebel seems to have the Sheridan pieces as well, but neither has responded to email or phone calls,

lastly it would be at least reassuring to me that I am on the right track w/ the f/g to raise the rear of the engine

Some good news

Roger is still in business, some initial hiccups apparently

Clint at Rebel Racing was able to get at least 2 sets, I will buy 1

great talking to Clint as he may be able to solve a couple of other issues as well

Every week. Right now we have some amber in stock, standard and 906 to go with the 906 fans and housings on the shelf.
We are waiting for a few sets of Polo glass as we speak. Hope to have it in a week or two.
We've used Roger's glass in the past and it's very nice. I think the color is off but that's just a matter of taste.
The Serious 900 glass also comes pre-cut. Damon uses a CNC mill to accurately trim the glass making fitment quick and very easy.
Here is the Damon's amber mounted to a 906 ring on a 2.0 vintage 914/6 GT.

If by "tins" you mean perimeter pieces, we don't have any of those.

Is there demand for shrouds and "tin". If so, we can produce if enough people are interested...

Cheers

It's A niche market

Both Damon and Roger makes nice f/g replacement tins

I am interested in in Roger's because he makes a set for 993 motor in a 911 chassis.

I started to try and purchase a set of Roger's back in Dec when this thread started, played phone tag all winter and spring

finally ordered a set from Rebel Racing in Mar, still haven't heard back from anyone.

Ordered mine from Sheridan, 1 week later they were delivered. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1688344235.jpg

Im not sure how often people are looking here, but in my case: im really looking for a cohesive set that matches so i am sure there are lots of people like me out there who just want a one stop shop (with quality and fit in mind). The sheridan set is great for this as you can get all the pieces relatively easily (even rain hats and back dated heat) just the color of Sheridan is a tad bit too light for me and where i am going with overall colors. The fact that I can get all the pieces from sheridan easily makes it very enticing despite my color issue.

anyone have the stuff rothsport is selling? the color there isnt as nice as damons but close

prschmn 07-03-2023 02:10 PM

One must remember that Damon is an artist-and cannot be rushed!!
He is local to me-a good friend and definitely still making them.

dgtlhybrd 07-03-2023 09:25 PM

definitely wouldn't want to rush him! just want to get in contact with em! - his pieces are truly fantastic

Good points,

Not looking to create a market where other products are available. But have created where not existed. It is easy enought to pigment the resins used to create the correct color throughout the parts (what ever hue that is). Not interested in doing one or two sets unless for a unique build we have in the shop....

Cheers

Yes as said above, Sheridan is pretty quick. I was told three weeks but had a tracking number from him within a few days.

I think Damon’s shrouds are the best color. Here’s mine:
