3.0L Distributor Drive Gear

How is the distributor drive gear held on to the dizzy on a 3.0L from an '81SC? Does it use a split dowel pin? Just a regular ol' pin? A hex socket headless bolt? How easy is it to tap out and press in - Does it just "fall out" or am I gonna need to use some force?

That copper coated pin is just a pin that gets peened. That’s what you get when you order a new one from Porsche. I’ve seen them with roll pins as well. They uninstall and reinstall pretty easily

Distributor Disassembly

Pin can be difficult to remove - I had to drill mine out.

Here's some info that may be useful:

Good luck
