Mechanical Rockers in a 4lt. 993
Hi All,
Anyone know where I might be able to locate a new set of mechanical tappets for a 993? I'm building a 4 liter and wanted it all... tons of power and a high rpm motor. Motor is going into my '70 911. The 2.8 in the car was stolen while the car was in storage and I've gotten kind carried away with the replacement. This engine had lots of miles on it: the cams were shot, tappets done-for, and the rockers were well past usable. I dumped the hydraulic valve train and opted for forged mechanical variant. The heads are done, cams are on their way, case is shuffle-pinned, and I just received the Pauter mechanical rockers last week. The shop I bought the rockers from was up-front with me that the rockers had no tappets and they had none to sell me (should have realized how hard mech. lifter/tappets would be to find). Now, I'm way to far-in to unwind it now. Any assistance in locating new 993 mechanical lifters would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jim |
Did you call Pauter. We talk to Brian weekly if not more. If he doesn’t have them, he might get know who does.

Do you mean these parts?

Do Pauter rockers use a custom elephant's foot? If not, just buy a set of Porsche adjusters.
