There are often many ways to skin a cat , this is just one . I think there is a missed point from Shane's description. I also smear a very light coating of grease, with my finger , just above where the ring will seat. This ensures that the ring will have a build up of grease all around the bottom edge of the ring as the piston is pushed down , and satisfies all grease needs for a proper seal. This kind of ratio check keeps you on your toes regarding all details , .1cc or even .01cc matters . You really do have control as to how your engine turns out . P.S. make sure your spark plug fills all the threads in the plug boss , round all sharp edges , weigh all the rotating masses , make sure the wrist pin lock is secure , piston to wall, Check deck height - get 1mm for sure +.05 -.05mm Just my thoughts Well done Shane this engine is going to rip........ Ian P.S. The new cam will be a KnightRace 75 , new valve springs and Ti retainers, A little less lift , more duration, softer installed pressure as well as over the nose . |
