Need Recommendation valve job in So. Cal area
 

Any recommendations for valve job on 911 heads in So. California?
Many machine shops said they will do it but I would like to find one
that specializes or does a lot of 911 heads.

I just had mine done by Steve Becker in Oregon. I like you could not find someone close who could. I called a high high end shop that must work on ultra high end stuff. He talked me out of using him and gave me Steve’s number. I didn’t even know he has the experience he has when I spoke with him. After I got his invoice, I found his webpage. Wow, good experienced guy does it all. I’m not sure if he is a one man shop. But does great work and i’m impressed. Highest recommendation and he reasonably priced. It’s worth the cost to ship to him. My service was clean, touch up valves and seats, new valve guides, set springs for my new 964 grind cams. He used my original valves and seats, springs, retainers, and keepers.

Supertec is in So. Cal. Although they are known for building great engines, they also do all their own machine work.

Competition Engineering. They have been doing machine work on these cars for 50+ years.

I find it funny that when I was looking for a P-Car machine shop I could trust, I couldn’t find one. Now that I’ve sent item out I find more and more capable people.

Stevie B and I worked together at Andial in the race engine dept., building the race engines. After leaving he went and worked for his dad running their high end CNC shop. Steve moonlighted in my shop often when we needed more machinists. Since then, he represents PD on the West Coast with machine work and builds. That includes head work, Engine Case work, including line bore repair.

I highly recommend him as he does work at our level.
