Hi All, I need some advice. I am in the process of getting a 1984 Porsche 911 Targa’s engine rebuilt. I have had it aqua blasted and wondered what is the best thing to seal the casing to keep it looking good?

If you had your case vapor honed you’re going to need to remove all the piston squirters and pull every case plug and clean every galley with brushes and pressurized water at least 5 times.A black light led flashlight works well for inspection.

What's the purpose of the black light? Vapor hone beads aren't fluorescent.

The media within the aqua (water) blast has a nasty tendency to end up everywhere it shouldn't so cleaning is critical to your engine lasting more than a short time. I found out the hard way as my career was beginning (at 16) just how hard it is to remove glass beading residue.

Any update? Is your problem solved now?

We’ve talked about ACF50 but he suggested I do some research as there may be something better out there.
There are quite a few on the market. I am leaning towards XCP Rust Blocker at the moment as the reviews (of which there many) are excellent

That should have been done before the case was assembled. At this point corrosion x , ACF50 ,or lps 3 is your best bet.

Thank You!

Here’s a pic. That’s jb weld and some specs on the engine yolk which you can’t see with your eye Trust me it works. Anything that doesn’t belong in the case sticks out like a sore thumb.
