Rebuilding a 1967-912 engine
I am in a bit of dilemma, I shipped my car off for a trans and full engine rebuilt to the midwest. The owner is having health issues and that I assume no work has been done to it.
I am located on the east coast in the Carolinas...Is there someone who is knowledgably about 616 engines that has deep experience rebuilding a 67-912 engine. Thanks |
Have you asked this question at the 912 registry? Lots of real knowledgeable folks there from all over the country. Maybe they can refer you. Good Luck! And so sorry, what a drag for all involved.
|
also look at the 356registry website, I know there are good engine people in your area

Jake Raby. Not cheap or fast but very exacting in his quality.

All,
Thanks for the input....I have to call the shop owner and get more data before I do anything. It's my second time with him-he rebuilt my engine and my transmission back in 2017. Gordon |

I have heard about SCAT, But they offer non 616 engines and I saw the website and I did not see anything about rebuilding engines for the customer. Gordon |
Chuck Allard in maybe VA. He’s on Pelican and does a lot of 356 engines. Might be callard here I think.

Chuck Allard is very knowledgeable and primarily builds nothing but 356/912 engines. He is in fact callard here on Pelican and can be found in the 356 parts forum. He is located in MD. |
I have a shop in Atlanta, RWL German Imports, I could handle that for you. Also Jack Lewis at Jack Lewis Enterprises is in the Atlanta area as well. Bob

Thanks guys. Gordon and I have swapped a couple PMs and I've sent him pics of a few recent engines. Like Mark, I focus on metric tools, not web-sites.
