911sc 3.0 1979
Hi 👍
My 3.0 engine is out and I need new camshafts. Want a bit more performance. 964 camshafts or maybe DC13 camshafts from Dougherty Racing Camshafts would they be ok ? Will the car still be good to drive as my daily car in the summer ? 😊 |

The rest of my engine seems to be ok. But I need new camshafts 👍 |
New cams
My understanding is you should at least recondition rockers not a tech but I stayed at Holiday inn express.
Henry does those exchange…..l |
It’s always ok until you open it up - lol.

I haven’t used the 20/21 cam that Henry references. I do use the Knight Racing M1 cam with CIS. I know from my own measurements and testing that the M1 cam uses as much lift and duration as possible without the valve contacting the pistons. The CIS/Carrera pistons limit lift and duration, so I’m nearly certain that the 20/21 numbers are very close to the M1 numbers.
If you plan to keep your current pistons, call William Knight and talk to him about the M1. 615-969-4917. If you change your pistons to ones with valve cutouts, you can choose a “hotter” cam. |
