1982 911 sc
Hey group. I finished partially restoring a 1982 911 SC in the fall. For the most part I'm quite happy with the results but I have two issues:
1. I thought the transmission was fine, so we did minor adjustments. However, now it seems like we need a complete rebuild. 2. We did not replace all the cosmetic rubber parts: the corrugated links between the bumpers and the fenders, the long inserts on the bumpers, etc. They are fine, but after sand blasting the body and doing brand new paint, now they look out of whack. Questions for the group: 1. Any suggestions for a shop in the CA area to rebuild the transmission? 2. Where do folks order those rubber parts? Seems crazy to go to Porsche and overpaying for rubber!! Thanks in advance!! |
Who's "we" and why do "we" think the transmission needs a complete rebuild? How many miles on it? Add that and your location to your profile or signature line. It will help us help you.

I had my 915 recently rebuild at California Motor Sports. Excellent job.
