all back together and ready to fire, except....!
3.2 rebuild is done and engine is bolted in- a short list of "loose ends" before i turn it over...
1. i have what i presume is a vacuum line which exits the middle of the firewall- i cannot find a home for it- any ideas? 2. i also have a smaller vacuum line that appears to have been plugged- anyone recognize it? 3. regarding the triple cable connection attached at the intake manifold at #3: the top connection goes to head temp sensor- what are the other two for?- and more importantly. (since i did not label them as middle and bottom), how can i tell which one is which?- they are both 3 prong with identical snap cases- is it possible they are interchangeable?- have re-installed to conform with the apparent "set" in the wiring, but have low confidence-- is there harm in starting the engine if they are reversed? 4. i cannot find any round cable end to insert here- clues? thanks all- will keep you posted re the moment of truth!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1712505279.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1712505279.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1712505279.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1712505279.jpg |
Regarding the round connector, there is no connection within the car for it so leave as is (it is a diagnostic port). And regarding the reference sensors, if it doesn’t start fairly quickly, switch them about.

See if this helps with the vacuum lines. Do you have the line to the cruise control module?

The electrical connectors are top to bottom, cylinder head temp sensor, engine speed sensor, and bottom is the reference sensor.
I believe if you can see where the wires come through the rubber grommet, the reference sensor is towards the center of the engine, the head temp sensor in the center, and the speed sensor towards the outside of the engine. As brighton911 stated, if it doesn't start you can try reversing them. |

And, as noted in the Bentley, the reference sensors are identical and interchangeable! |
