Acceptable wear on intermediate shaft gears?
Starting to assemble a 3.5L engine, and noticing some wear on intermediate shaft gears I didn’t notice on teardown. I’m hearing that new gears are not great quality, so wondering what is the threshold for replacement. I don’t see any wear at the root of the gears, but do see some on one side of one row of teeth. Similar on the other gear.

Weirdness posting pics, let’s try again.

I'm no expert, but here are my gears for comparison. I decided to replace mine with genuine Porsche parts. And I was taught long ago, whether it's right or wrong, to replace chains and sprockets as a set no matter if it's a bicycle, motorcycle, timing chains, etc. So, I'm replacing the chains, intermediate shaft sprockets, and the camshaft sprockets for my build.

After examining the intermediate shaft and cam sprockets more closely today, I found wear in the U between the teeth, and some transition areas can just catch the tip a small screwdriver as I gently drag it over. Just ordered new sprockets.
