P234 Rear Main Seal Tool
Anyone have a P234 rear main seal tool they'd be able to rent out for a bit? I'm in the process of rebuilding my 80 3.0 and would love to use the P234 for installing the rear main seal if possible. The cost of the tool just for a single replacement is a tough one to get over and was seeing if anyone has one they be willing to rent out!

Just slowly tap it in using a wood block and hammer/mallet. That's what 90+% of us do.

I welded one up out of a piece of scrap metal and used a bearing press bushing sleeve of the right size to press it in...worked great.
However, someone shared a 3D printed version. I will try printing one tonight. Happy to send one along if it looks decent to see if you can use it. If you have the exact outer diameter of the seal I will double check this design. PM me. https://www.printables.com/model/205318-porsche-944-968-rear-main-seal-installation-tool Mine: ![]() Last edited by thetorch; 08-21-2024 at 06:44 PM.. |

Looks like the 3D printed tool might work well. @80schstragedy, PM me and I'll mail you one to try:
