track engine fan
I have the long block together for a 3.6 track engine. I am ready to finish it and need to decide how to drive the fan. GT 3 crank, so with a square nose on the pully end. I
have a pully that I can adapt to this motor with a V belt, or I can buy a multi rib belt/pully setup. I run a V belt on my 3.0 motors with no issues, but wonder about the same on the 3.6 setup. Appreciate any experience and advice on this matter. Thanks, Bob |
After racing 3.6L engines for a very long time, I would highly recommend getting the Clewett serpentine belt setup.

I've heard similar recommendations from others about getting a serpentine belt conversion. Yet in all my years of running 911 engines on track (mostly to 7500 RPM), I've never tossed a belt. What causes the tossing? I wonder if driving style can be a contributing factor.

By the way, it looks good.

track fan
Purchased this from Clewett engineering. Fits up nicely except it appears that the crank pulley needs to step out 2.5mm for the sensor wheel to line up correctly, so the fan housing is clear and the belt has good alignment. Spoke with Richard and the dimensions on the pulley appear correct. It is a 93 3.6 case with a GT3 crank. This kit is for a 993 due to the square nose on the crank. I can make a shim and a longer dowel, but I would like to know why I have this issue. Any info will be appreciated. Bobhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1726092776.jpg
