Pushing through countless threads and started one of my own but I am still 'fuzzy' about using a 964 distributor with my 3.2 to 3.4 conversion. Found this thread and is more of the direction I was looking for...
This is for my 86 3.2 that is currently apart for a top end and I have a Mahle (3.4) P&C set and 964 distributor (and coils). Cams will be updated Shop can machine for twin plug So, in essence I have everything needed for starters but just would like a basic description in regards to using a 964 distributor with my 3.2/3.4 conversion. I have 6-7 threads open from 2006 to 2015, not really finding a basic 101 type answer. Thanks in advance- Erik |

Yes, to the most basic degree. Just wondering what's involved with the 964 using my Motronic. I have been looking through threads from the last 20 years and feel a bit more confident in the direction I am going. I thought I had seen a "kit" to convert to fire twin. Erik |

I'm not sure if Sal still makes them but notice he is still active on the forum and impresses me as a straight up guy. |

Hi Erik, Sal is a great address for 3.2 Carrera Motronic hard + software improvements, as he offers a MAF upgrade kit that is supposed to be fantastic. Not cheap but it also includes new injectors, upgraded computer etc. Alternatively you can go with Steve Wong, who has the cheapest twin plug conversion kit as he simply modifies the Motronic and then you can use factory 964 + 993 ignition parts: https://www.911chips.com/engine.htm Both are members of the forum and will be able to help you with a well working setup. Cheers, Lukas |

Thanks Lukas! I have been in touch with Steve Wong in the past and have yet to make contact with Sal in regards to this issue. I forgot about the twin plug conversion Steve offers and will research that more...of course along with Sal's conversion...both seem to get a lot of high praise. Again, thank you! Erik |
