Carrera Tensioners upgrade?
On a '70T engine, my friend is doing the pressure fed tensioners and something strange is going on. What's going on here?

He's missing the block that goes in between the case and oil hose, and holds the oil pressure sender.

Get the block, the through piece and a pressure relief cover screw and together your problem is solved. I just did this on motor this week.
I have extra used parts, PM to purchase if you desire. Bruce |
There is a different cam feed line for early tensioner conversion.
I'll look up the number when I have a minute. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1729522246.jpg We make our own for a more custom fit. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1729522395.jpg You might notice that we have a kit that allows us to fit Carrera tensioners to early 2.0 chain boxes. |
OK, that makes sense. I was thinking, there's oil pressure sensor in the area but thought it may come out horizontal from the hole facing forward.
My friend may have the piece with all the parts from tear down. If not, I believe it's this part. Bruce - If needed, I will contact you. Thanks for the responses. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1729533141.png |
You can also get the correct hose from Porsche: 964 3.3 Turbo.

Rauch & Spiegel has a fitting that bridges the gap.
