Converting early distributor question
I am having a 2 liter six built from T specs to S p/c, bigger valves , DC 30 cams etc.
Changing Marelli distributor to Bosch…..but not sure I bought the correct one (of course) Have a Bosch 0231 159 008 ( it has 1-2-3 in it) Thanks for expertise. |
The shaft of the distributor changed size for 72

Thanks Bruce… dimensions look right.
May have misstated it has Petronix(? ). There is an extensive thread going down a rabbit hole……but talks about tach working. Any issue there? |
The 911T distributor curve is different from the 911S/911E curve. So either get the 006 or 007, or have yours recurved. Also, not sure of what flywheel is what, but put a red line at 30 degrees if yours is 911T or 914-6 (which would have had 35 degree marking).

It has a programable 1 2 3 distributor, make it whatever you want.

Think he corrected himself and went from 123 to Pertronix. 123 would not be old distributor with part number.
|
If you find that you need a distributor I have one out of my ‘75 that Jerry Woods just recurved. I went with a 1-2-3 after working with Icarp. I can send the specs on my Bosch if you’re interested.
