oil pres spring question

I have a 78 3.0l engine delivered to me in many boxes. Doing inventory I found that both oil pressure springs are the same. I thought Porsche updated to the one longer spring with updated plungers. Or did someone mix this up?

thx

When I was in the dealer network, 78 was about the time the campaign for the pressure relief update was introduced. Cars that didn’t have issues might not be updated. If your working on the engine preform the update.

If your engine is pre oil relief update, the oil relief pistons will be different and the case will need a hole drilled for the update.
